This paper discusses the narrative image and function of the God Which Drives Away Pestilence through two novels with the same title of Nuoshen. The local novel Nuoshen focuses on writing people. The image of the God which drives away pestilence is to highlight the protagonist"s various experiences in the world. The divinity of the God which drives away pestilence is shown in people"s various desires. Therefore, it focuses on the personification of God. The adventure novel Nuoshen focuses on writing things. The image of the god which drives Away Pestilence is to make the adventure activities more challenging. The divinity of the God which drives away pestilence is displayed in the rendering of the mysterious atmosphere. Therefore, it focuses on deification of human beings.
The image of the God which drives away pestilence plays a very important role in the narrative of the novel. In the local novel Nuoshen, structurally, the image of the God which drives away pestilence has the function of metaphor and metonymy. In terms of narrative means, the novel takes the hidden and fragmented magic realism as its expression. In the adventure novel Nuoshen, from the perspective of structure, the God which drives away pestilence becomes the connection between all levels of boxes. In terms of narrative techniques, the God which drives away pestilence is a mysterious symbol in the virtual alien land.
