From 1921 to 1969, Murray worked in Korea for almost 40 years, except for a few years when he had to return to Canada under various circumstances. Before and after the liberation, Murray left her ministry divided in two books; periodically period of Japanese occupation, the Korean War, after the division, and regionally in the north of Gando, Hamgyong Province and the whole of the south. The book AT THE FOOT OF DRAGON HILL, which records the first period, briefly describes her life until she applied as a missionary and describes her life until she came to Korea in 1921 and was expelled by Japan in 1942 and left the land of Hamheung. Murray’s book “Return to Korea”, which recorded the second period, begins with the story of returning to Korea in 1947 in which Ewha Womans University President Kim Hwa-ran invited a Murray missionary to establish a medical school and describes his life and activities until he retired to retirement in 1961. Murray then returned to Severance in 1965 and set up a modern medical record room. She returned to Canada in 1969.
In the 40 years of her long ministry, Murray showed the same attitude: she did everything in her power to cure life, and further she sought to find the cause of the disease and educate people to prevent the extension of the disease. Also she tried to improve the hospital system for more efficient and safe treatment. Her activities have left a great footprint in the Korean modern medical history space.
