The purpose of this study is to analyze the various aspects of Korean-coined Chinese characters (國字) in their presence in Chinese society, as verified from various Chinese and Chinese character dictionaries, along with other relevant data on written characters. During the process of filtering objects for analysis out of the list of Korean-coined Chinese characters (國字), review activities were conducted for compiled characters and entries in dictionaries, including Kangxizidian (康熙字典), Hanyu Da Zidian (漢語大字典), Zhonghua Zihai (中華字海), and the Dictionary of Variant Chinese Characters (異體字字典). Next, sources for these are identified in the Chinese Character Dictionary (字書) and other written materials where Korean-coined Chinese characters (國字) were present. Finally, the 'uniqueness' of Korean-coined Chinese characters (國字) is clarified from the perspective of the 'configurational basis (構形理據),' which is a core theory of Chinese character configuration. The main content of this paper is constituted in two large parts. In Chapter Two, the status of 'Korean-coined Chinese characters (國字)' that has been sorted out as Korean data on characters is investigated. Next, out of its representative research performances, the Dictionary for Chinese Characters and Compound Words of Korean Origin (韓國漢字語辭典, 1992-1996) and A Study on the Chinese Characters of Korean Origin (韓國固有漢字硏究, 2014), the list of Korean-coined Chinese characters (國字) is compared and analyzed to discern the uniqueness. In Chapter Three, extensive sources on written characters are examined from Chinese Dictionaries, Chinese Character Dictionaries, and Dictionaries for Modern Chinese, such as Xiandai Hanyu Cidian (現代漢語詞典) and Baidu Encyclopedia (百度百科). Sources also include Chinese representative search engines, such as Baidu (百度), Sogou (搜狗), and Sina (新浪). Based on these results, analysis was conducted on the Korean-coined Chinese characters (國字) that are being used in Chinese society for personal names, place names, standard Chinese characters, variants, characters in dialects, and internet characters.
