This thesis attempts to discuss the unique narrative that appeared in Anne Bronte's Agnes Grey, which has a pattern in discussing the lessons of good and evil with refined narratives that hide the narrator's desires for power over oppressors. The factors showing this narrative can be seen in Anne Bronte's life and Agnes Gray's life. Anne Bronte, who always longed for recognition as the youngest in the family, revealed a secret desire to overthrow various power relationships. Agnes Gray, like Anne Bronte, meets various oppressors in the novel. Every time she is in trouble, dichotomous distinction and moral standards were used as weapons to criticize those who suppressed her, and I claim that these are the features of the narrative of the weak. This is the way she furtively expresses her fury and despair and this is also why she is exempted from the accusation that she has the aggressive and subversive desire to defeat them. Therefore, the text seems like a seamless didactic narrative but underneath the surface is filled with desiring-self.
