Purpose : The purpose of this study is to understand the experience and meaning of falls in elderly care workers. Methods : Participants were targeted at ten elderly care worker in Seoul and Gyeonggi region. The data collection period was from September to November 2020 and was conducted through individual in depth interviews. The collected data were analyzed using the content analysis method of qualitative research. The main interview questions used in this study are as follows. First, in the event of an fall, “Can you tell us about your experience and how you dealt with it?”, Second, “Can you tell us about your role and the role of the person, family center to manage an fall?”, Third, “Can you tell us about the difficulties in managing falls based on your experience?”, Fourth, “How are falls that occur in visiting nursing managed?” Results : As a result of analyzing the meaning of the experiences of falls of nursing care workers caring for the elderly at home, five themes were derived. The main topics are ‘understanding the characteristics of the elderly in home’, ‘understanding possible emergency situations, providing caring services’, ‘minimizing physical damage’, and ‘delivering clear information’. Conclusion : This study is significant in that the care worker who visit and provide care for the at home elderly confirmed the necessity of developing standard guidelines for appropriate response in the event of an fall for the at home elderly and the importance of managing the emergency for the at home elderly. These results the development of emergency response education programs such as the fall of nursing care workers who provide care to elderly people, and the integrated understanding of the characteristics of elderly people who live in fall are required.
