The North Korean cyber attacks in the past usually have focused on the disruptive attacks on South Korea’s network systems and infrastructure. In the recent years, the focus has shifted towards cyber espionage and securing hard currency by attacking the international financial networks. North Korea have successfully attacked the banking systems of 17 different countries resulting in securing 2 Billion US Dollars. The focus of this research is to examine the integrity of cyberspace security of the 17 hacked countries in order to gain perspectives on the North Korean hacking style and strategy. This paper discovered North Korea formulated hacking options based on the each countries contamination level on the cyberspace. The level of contamination is determined by the activties of a series of malware and network breaches based on Microsoft CCM (Computers Cleaned per Mile) and Encounter rate analysis. It is plausible the analytical tool used in this research can be adopted as a system with which to determine the correlation of the North Korean cyber attack and cyber space integraity and health of the international community.
