The purpose of this study was to determine the effects and efficacy of massage therapy on thetreatment of the pain in the third lumbar vertebra. Pain in the third lumbar vertebra due to acute or chronicscarring of the back produces significant discomfort in activity. This study was conducted from 2014 to 2017on 86 patients with the target disease and was selectively applied with the movements designed by theresearcher to treat back pain. Among the 86 patients, the most number of treatments was 30 times and theleast number of treatments was 3 times. The duration for a simple treatment was about 15 minutes and thelonger treatment took about 30 minutes. Results revealed that the pain among 72 patients was healed and 11patients showed significant effects. There were 3 patients with efficacy and no null result was found.
