The current study collected and analyzed the journals of pre-service teachers who experienced volunteer activities to examine pre-service teachers' experience with volunteer activities at childcare centers and the significance of those activities. Some pre-service centers were almost forced to engage in the volunteer activities at first, but they gradually participated actively. Their experience evolved from limited experience to greater variety and they no longer feel that the service hours are too long. Also, their curious experience full of the ‘why’ questions evolved into the experience of awakening and the people they met during the volunteer activities from uninvited beings to beings they would want to see again. The significance of volunteer activities is that they learn to devote their bodies and minds and they can take a chance to learn and grow. Also, they can realize the meaning of 'value of together' as every participant shall be responsible for the volunteer activities. The current findings is expected to provide fundamental information to look back on the meaning of volunteer activities and re-identify the direction of volunteer activities.
