This study comparatively analyzed current usage and interest in medical skin care among 20’ Women Student on College. This study contributes to the introduction of a medical skin care expansion program that can meet such young women’s needs. The study results found the following: First, regarding the subjects’ general characteristics, ‘20-22’ and ‘single’ were the highest percentage in terms of age and marital status. In education and monthly income, ‘junior college (currently enrolled/graduated)’ and ‘less than KRW 1 million’ were most reported. Second, regarding the current use of medical skin care, ‘once or twice per year’ and ‘0?60 minutes’ were the highest in frequency and duration of the treatment, respectively. When asked how they get medical skin care treatment, the highest response was “after getting laser resurfacing”. Second, in terms of the age when they first used treatment, the ‘20s’ category was the highest with 58%, followed by ‘teens’(42%). In the categories of treatment cost and duration of the treatment used, ‘KRW 30,000-50,000’ and ‘3-6 months’ were the highest. When asked when they started to feel the effects, ‘at the 2nd or 3rd treatment’ was most responded. In terms of the adverse effects of medical skincare, 55.9% experienced ‘red marks’, ‘sensitive skin’ and ‘pigmentation’. Third, when asked about the types of lasers used in their medical skin care treatment, ‘acne treatment’ was most responded. When asked what treatment they wanted to get in the future, ‘whitening’ was the highest percentage of response. In terms of the acne treatment they experienced, ‘pressing-out’ was the highest. Regarding the treatments for pigmentation (whitening), ‘resurfacing’, ‘dye laser’ and ‘iontophoresis’ were mentioned. Fourth, according to analysis of the subjects’interest in medical skincare by their general characteristics, a statistically significant difference was found with monthly household income. In particular, interest in medical skincare was the highest among those who received laser skin lightening.
