This research purpose to examine the original experience in ‘Chosen’ as to how the colonial memories and reminiscences is appeared by a Japanese returnee from Keijo Imperial University through novels and text analysis. Hidehiko Teshima who was born in Fukuoka transferred to Pyongyang Junior High School in colonial Chosen. He entered the preparatory course of Keijo Imperial University and graduated from the medical school in 1945. He participated in the Pacific War as a surgeon and ended the war in Java. Despite being from the medical school, he created many literary works such as Sunset is red in 1985. Among them, Konpeki in the distance(1991) and Daedong River(1992) are reflected to Teshima’s view of dependant territory of Chosen. Daedong River depicts the friendship between Korean and Japanese with complicated relations in colonial experience as a private novel. Konpeki in the distance also wrote the reminiscences of Keijo Imperial University Preparatory School from an omniscient perspective. These two literary works are expose to the daily life of a Japanese who spent his youth at Keijo Imperial University and Pyong-yang Junior High School in colonial Chosen and his reproductive memory of dependant territory.
