본 논문은 한국사상 원형 담론에 관한 데이터베이스 구축 연구의 필요성을 제기한 글이다. 한국사상의 원형담론은 한국사상의 연원에 관한 이해뿐만 아니라, 한국사상의 원형을 거론하는 주체의 역사 인식과 정체성 인식, 심리적 의도 등을 파악할 수 있는 중요한 자료이다. 특히 담론 주체의 인식에 관한 문제는 당대의 국제정세와 연관되며, 현대에도 정체성 정치의 근간을 이룬다. 신자유주의 경제체제에 기반한 세계화는 도리어 개발도상국과 약소국의 민족주의 부흥이라는 역설적 현상을 초래했고, 펜데믹 이후 국제사회 질서는 세계화에서 지역화로 선회하며 자국중심주의 체제로 재편될 우려가 커지고 있다. 물론 민족주의는 민족이라는 상상의 공동체에 기댄 허구의식이라는 비판이 가능하지만, 현대사회는 이미 국가 단위로 움직인 지 오래고, 민족 분쟁과 갈등이 늘 존재해왔다. 특히 한국이 속한 동북아시아의 정세는 과거 민족과 역사 인식에 큰 영향을 받는 문제를 안고 있으며, 남북한 통일 문제도 여전히 우리 민족의 과제로 남아있다. 따라서 이에 대응할 수 있는 국가정체성과 공동체 의식에 관한 재고찰이 필요하다. 고려말 원 간섭기의 단군 연원 강조, 조선 후기 전란 이후 기자 사상 연구의 대두, 근대 전환기부터 일제강점기에 이르는 단군의 재조명은 대격변기에 민족의 정체성을 확립하고 결속을 강화하려는 시대정신을 반영한다. 급변하는 현대 국제정세에 대응하는 정체성의 확립과 공동체의 결속, 그리고 이에 대한 성찰은 정치이념으로는 불가능하다. 반면 과거 한국인의 근본 뿌리에 해당하는 사상원형 담론은 이를 가능하게 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논고는 이에 대비하기 위한 학술적 방안으로서 한국사상 원형 담론을 집대성하고 체계화하는 연구를 제안한다. 한국사상 원형 담론 연구는 한국사상의 근원적 정체성에 대한 한국인의 의식을 드러냄으로써 철학, 사회학, 문화심리학, 사회심리학, 정치학, 한국학 등 다양한 분야로 연구확산이 가능하다.

This paper raises the need for a study on the establishment of an archetype discourse database (DB) on Korean thoughts. The archetype discourse on Korean thoughts and ideas is an important material that not only helps us understand the origin of Korean thoughts, but also signifies the historical perspective, perception of identity, and the psychological intention and many other elements of a subject who engages in the discourse. Especially, matters concerning to the subject’s perception are related to the international situation of the time, and they are also the basis of the identity politics in the present. Globalization based on the neo-liberal economic system unexpectedly and paradoxically resulted in the revival of nationalism in developing and small countries, and there is a growing concern that the order of global community which has just experienced the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic would shift from globalization to localism, accelerating the nation-centrism policies in most countries and reconstructing the world thereby. Of course, one can criticize nationalism as a fictional concept based on nation, that is imagined communities. Nevertheless, our modern societies already operate on a nation basis, and ethnic conflicts and tension are not new. In particular, in the Northeast Asia where Korea is located, the perception and perspective of the past have a great impact on the overall situation of the region, and reunification of North and South still remain the mission of the nation. Therefore, it is necessary to reconsider the national identity and communal spirit of the people to cope with the changing situation. The emphasis of the origin of Dangun at the end of Goryeo dynasty which suffered the intervention of Yuan, the rising of Gija Joseon study after the wars in the later Joseon dynasty, and the new light on Dangun myth throughout the modern transition period of Joseon and the Japanese colonial period, all reflected the spirit of the time which sought to establish national identity and strength the national unity of the nation in such time of upheaval. The establishment of an identity, unity of community, and reflection on the foregoing to cope with the rapidly changing international situation of today cannot be done by the current political ideologies. On the other hand, it is possible by an archetype discourse on our ancestors’ thoughts, which constituted the origin or roots of the Korean nation. For this reason, the current paper suggests that as an academic method, we initiate a comprehensive research on and give a structure to the archetype discourse of Korean thoughts. This is a preliminary study, seeking to compile the materials of ‘discourse’ in order to research and reflect on the subject matters, before delving into the actual study of the archetype of the thoughts itself. The study of an archetype discourse on Korean thoughts, through such preparation can be applied to a wider range of academic disciplines, including philosophy, social studies, cultural psychology, social psychology, politics, and Korean studies, as it will reveal the Korean perception about the essential identity of the Korean thoughts.
