The purpose of this study is to deal with the current status of values of Chinese students in Korea for a mutual cultural approach, different from the existing research focusing on Korean value culture education and targeting Chinese students. It attempts to understand the value system of Chinese learners and provide basic data for the actual Korean language education field. By examining what kind of the value culture Chinese students in Korea have and what kind of the Korean culture they feel, it can help understand each culture of both countries and serve as a basis for easily teaching value culture in Korean and Chinese education sites. It will focus on familism, collectivism, and authoritarianism to study the value culture of Koreans and Chinese. In order to achieve the research purpose, Chinese international students who came for academic purposes were surveyed. A total of 139 students participated in the questionnaire survey which was conducted for 10 days from May 25 to June 3, 2020. In order to analyze the values of collectivism, familism, and authoritarianism in China, it largely divided them into three parts, including the duration of residence. The results of the analysis are summarized to show that the values of collectivism and familism in China still have a great influence on young college students. In particular, the degree of acceptance of filial piety and adult respect was high among them, and that Confucian culture is deeply rooted in modern times. It can be also found that they have a positive attitude toward sacrifices for national interests as 'collective interests are emphasized'. They, however, have a strong negative attitude toward 'most authoritarianism' and 'sexual discrimination'. By considering the characteristics of Chinese learners, it thus proposed the content of value culture education for them and teachers’ desirable stances and attitudes during the education. Hence, it provides useful data for preventing cultural conflicts caused by value culture in the field of Korean culture education.
