This study's primary objective was to confirm the antibacterial effect of aroma oil on Stophylococcus aureus and Stophylococcu epidermidis, the common bacteria of atopic dermatitis. Among the aroma oils, Thyme oil and Cinamon bark oil which have antibiotic effects against S. aureus, were selected through the disk diffusion method. In order to solve problems in use, such as delayed volatility and reduced toxicity of aroma oil, It was made into a gel using biodegradable polymers Curdlan (Curdlan: Cur) and carboxymethyl scleroglucan (CMSG). The experiment involved 4 groups of S. aureus and 4 groups of S. epidermis. As a result of the above experiment, S. aureus growth was completely inhibited in Group I and Group II at 150 μl and 200 μl of thyme oil. In Group III and Group IV, S. aureus growth was entirely restrained when the amount of Cinamon oil added was 200 μl. In Group V and Group VI, the growth of S. epidermidis was completely inhibited when 200 μl of Thyme oil was used. In Group VII and Group VIII, the growth of S. epidermidis was completely inhibited when 200 μl of Cinamon oil was used. The study's findings, in terms of cosmetology, Curdlan is possible to present the possibility of application as a new formulation that can enhance the improvement effect of atopic dermatitis.
