충청유학의 연구현황 분석 및 향후 과제: 철학 분야를 중심으로

이 논문은 2022년 10월까지 연구된 충청유학(철학계)의 인물별, 주제별 연구성과물 600여 편을 분석해 보고, 향후 충청유학 연구에 필요한 과제가 무엇인지를 고찰하였다. 그 결과 충청에 연고를 둔 유학자 중 가장 많이 연구된 유학자는 한원진(65편), 홍대용(60편), 송시열(56편), 임성주(48편), 윤증(46편), 전우(45편) 순임을 알 수 있었다. 또한 이들 연구의 특징은 주로 2000년대 들어 연구가 급증하다 2010년대 이후 서서히 감소하는 추세를 보인다. 다만 한원진과 전우는 2010년대 이후에 연구가 급증하고 있어 향후에도 연구가 집중될 것으로 예상된다. 이러한 연구현황 분석을 통해 볼 때 충청유학의 향후 과제는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 미진한 연구 분야와 미개척 연구 분야의 집중 연구의 필요성이다. 인물별 연구성과는 위 6인에 집중되어 있고, 그 외 인물들에 대한 연구는 대체로 1~20여 편의 성과물이 전부여서 편향적인 연구 경향이 강하다. 향후에는 미진한 인물의 연구와 더불어 철학계 논문이 한 편도 존재하지 않는 충청 유림도 발굴하여 연구해 나가야 할 것이다. 둘째, 신진연구인력 양산의 필요성이다. 충청유학의 연구성과는 1990~ 2000년대 절정을 이루다, 2010년대 이후부터는 감소하는 경향을 보인다. 이러한 연구 경향의 배후에는 충청유학 연구자의 고령화와 관련이 깊다. 이에 신진연구연력을 양산할 필요가 있다. 셋째, 충청유학에 대한 관심 및 지원 증대의 필요성이다. 이에 충청유학을 꾸준히 발굴, 연구할 수 있도록 지자체, 연구원, 재단 등의 연구비 지원, 안정된 일자리 제공 등으로 안정된 환경에서 꾸준한 연구가 진행되어야 할 것으로 판단된다. 넷째, 충청유학의 현대화 및 융복합 연구의 필요성이다. 최근 들어 충청유학에도 예술적 측면이나, 문화콘텐츠, 인성교육과의 활용방안 등 다양한 측면과 융복합하여 연구되고 있지만, 여전히 미흡한 상황이다. 4차 산업혁명시대에 필요한 융복합 방식의 접목과 디지털 방식의 다양한 형태의 연구성과물이 양산될 수 있도록 노력해야 할 것이다. 다섯째, 충청유학의 보편화와 세계화로, 충청유학의 글로컬리즘(glocalism) 완성이 필요하다. 이를 위해서는 세계사적인 시각에서 검토하고, 세계에 충청유학을 소개하는 작업도 필요하다. 더불어 일반인들도 함께 공유하고 활용할 수 있도록 보편화시켜야 한다. 이를 위해서는 다각도의 활용방안에 대한 꾸준한 연구가 필요해 보인다.

The purpose of this thesis is to analyze more than 600 research status by person and subject until October 2022, and subject with the focus on the philosophic theses regarding the Chungcheong Confucianism and contemplate on what is the perspective required in the future perspective on the studies of the Chungcheong Confucianism. As a result, from the Confucius scholars who had their basis in Chungcheong up to August 2022, the Confucius scholars who studies the most are in the sequence of Han Won-jin (65 works), Hong Dae-yong (60 works), Song Si-yeol (56 works), Im Seong-joo (48 works), Yoon Jeung (46 works), and Jeon Woo (45 works). In addition, the characteristics of these studies have drastically increased mainly in the 2000s but displayed gradual decrease after the 2010s. However, the studies are drastically increased after 2010s for Han Won-jin and Jeon Woo that the study is expected to be concentrated. Considering through the analysis on the status of such studies, the future perspective on the Chungcheong Confucianism is shown as follows. First, it is the need of concentrated studies in the insufficient study fields and un-pioneered study fields. The study outcome for each person is focused on the 6 above-named persons and the studies on these personnel would be the outcome of 1~20 volumes in general that there is a strong tendency of inclining studies. In the future, the study would be reasonable to discover the scholars in Chungcheong for not having any single thesis for philosophy existing. Second, it is the need of producing new and advanced personnel on its studies. The outcome of studies on the Chungcheong Confucianism was peaked in 1990~2000s, but it displayed the trend of gradual decrease after the 2010s. In the background of such study tendency, it is profoundly related to the high age of researchers for the Chungcheong Confucianism. Therefore, it is required for producing new study personnel in the field. Third, it is the need for increase in interests and support on the Chungcheong Confucianism. Therefore, it is considered to steadily discover and study the Chungcheong Confucianism with the progress of continuous studies under the stable atmosphere by providing subsidies on research expenses by local government, institutions, foundations and others as well as providing steady jobs and so forth. Fourth, it is the need for studies on modernization and convergence and integration of the Chungcheong Confucianism. In recent days, studies have been engaged in the Chungcheong Confucianism with respect to diversified aspects of artistic approach, cultural contents as well as schemes to facilitate with humanities education in addition to convergence and integration thereof, but such efforts have not been sufficient. It requires endeavors to come up with diverse types of study outcomes in digital method along with the linkage of converged and integrated methods required in the 4th industrial revolution era. And fifth, there is a need for generalization and globalization of the Chungcheong Confucianism for completing the glocalism of the Chungcheon Confucianism. For this purpose, it requires the review under the global historic perspective and its works to introduce the Chungcheong Confucianism to the world. Furthermore, it also requires to generalize the same for the general public to share and facilitate together. For this purpose, it is deemed to require steady studies on the scheme of multi-dimensional facilitation.
