The purpose of this article is to examine Ha Gyeom-jin's perception of reality through Kim Taek-yeong. At present, research on Ha Gyeom-jin is relatively sparse. Having built academic achievements despite the limitations of the times, what kind of awareness of reality did he have? To this end, I tried to capture the frame of perception by using 'Changgang Kim Taek-yeong' as a reference point. Hoebong maintained a special relationship with Changgang by participating in correctional work, writing prefaces to published books, writing reviews on Changgang's writings, and writing prefaces to anthologies. Hoebong shows an awareness of reality in 「校正三國史記序」, points out the beginning of the sentence and historical flow in 「重刊益齋集序」, and reads the inner side of events in 「書安義士傳後」 and shows the perspective on the change of the world in 「韶濩堂集序」. Although Hoebong and Changgang had a 20-year age difference, they maintained a comradeship as academic helpers, enabling a new academic road from Nantong, Gurye, Jinju, and Daegu. Research on this will be deferred to a later date.
