Purpose: The development of peer-to-peer communication skills is a very important development task for children. Children"s peer relationships are naturally formed through daily life and play. Through group play classes using board games, this study aims to find out the effects of improving pragmatic discourse and self-talk of preschool children with language development retardation. Methods: This study conducted a language problem-solving ability test to evaluate pragmatic discourse ability, and evaluated the improvement of spontaneous speech by explaining pictures of the Paradise Fluency Assessment. Results: As a result of peer group play using board games, the ability to answer causes and reasons, solution reasoning, and guessing clues was improved. Also, the ability to spontaneous speech of description on the picture was improved. Conclusions: It was found that group play using a board game had a very positive effect on the improvement of the verbal discourse and spontaneity of preschool children. This suggests that board games help improve language development, expand thinking, and improve children"s premise and reasoning skills.
