Purpose: This study set out to apply Rehacom, a computer-assisted cognitive training program, to aphasic patients, examine changes to their cognitive abilities, and propose an effective therapy program for aphasic patients in a clinical setting. Results: First, both the groups received therapy and took a linguistic ability test. Participating in the Rehacom program, Group B scored higher points of statistical significance than Group A in all of AQ task(t= -2.43, p<.05), task of speaking for themselves(t=-3.57, p<.01), and task of auditory comprehension(t=-2.27, p<.05). Secondly, both the groups took a cognitive ability test after therapy. The results reveal statistically significant differences(t=.104, p<.05) in the scores of Test B of connecting signs between them. Finally, the study analyzed correlations between linguistic and cognitive abilities in both the groups and observed prominent correlations between the task of auditory comprehension, an item of the linguistic ability test, and the cognitive ability test. After the Rehacom program intervention, there were high correlations between auditory comprehension and Test B, auditory comprehension and visual learning, auditory comprehension and visual continuous performance. Conclusions: Based on these findings, the study demonstrates that cognitive therapy, special the Rehacom intervention program for aphasic patients contributed to the improved auditory comprehension and working memory abilities of the subjects. The study thus indicates that the use of various computer-assisted cognitive rehabilitation programs plays a positive role in the enhancement of patients" linguistic and cognitive abilities during speech therapy for the rehabilitation of aphasic patients, proposing for clinical researches on the topic in the future.
