Recently, the ratio of single-person households for young people is increasing, and housing problems such as insufficient housing cost and poor housing environment are also increasing. In order to solve this housing problem, co-living houses are being provided. The co-living house is a housing type suitable for the MZ generation who pursue their own lifestyle and they can create a community with residents while enjoying their hobbies while securing privacy. This study aims to analyze the spatial characteristics of the common space of the co-living house by selecting three cases among the co-living houses that accommodate more than 200 households, which are single building and relatively diverse in common space. The common space of the co-living house is classified into a Community space, a Leisure activity space, and a Work space, and the characteristics of openness, accessibility, scalability, and interchangeability were derived as a result of the analysis of previous studies. As a result, ‘Community space’ was found to have strong accessibility. It was located on the floor where the public space was concentrated and was convenient to access other public spaces, and the space with a clear purpose showed weak scability. The ‘Leisure activity space’ was a space for hobbies, showing strong interchangeability among residents, and in the case of a gym, the scalability was weak due to the fixed space configuration. The ‘Work space’ showed strong accessibility as it is the main common space of the co-living house, and the scability was weak because the some spaces were fixed spaces. In the co-living house where there were various common spaces, accessibility, openness, and interchangeability appear in various ways depending on the type of space, and it was found that the scalability with variable spaces and changes in the area of space was low in all space types.
