“Buguo+X” is a syntactic structure in Chinese. Based on the theory of “Small Trine” by Mr. Fuyi Xing, this article explores and analyzes the ““Buguo+X” with the subjective colors of small quantity from the outside and inside aspects of language, and the aspect of language value with the deep exploration into the grammatical mechanism of the structure. Firstly, in the outside aspect of language, the construction “Buguo+X” is composed of the constant term “Buguo” and the variable “X”, which can be nominal, verbal or quantifier. This construction often co-occurs with “Er/ErYi/BaLe” to express the speaker’s assessment of a small amount of quantity, time and action. Secondly, the subjective colors of small quantity, lightness and derogatory sense contained in “Buguo+X” are exposed after the concept integration for the inside aspect of language. “Buguo+X” also indicates the small quantity or lightness through markers or context highlight. Thirdly, the pragmatic functions of “Buguo+X” mainly include the emotional expression, information transmission and quantity highlight for language value. Fourthly, The structuralization mechanism mainly includes two aspects of pragmatic analogy and reanalysis. “Buguo+X” is transformed into a “small quantity” of subjective evaluation action events by the objective explanation that it does not exceed a certain range of space, time and quantity by pragmatic analogy, thus inducing functional changes. It has evolved from the objective description of “bu” + “guo NP” to the subjective evaluation of “Buguo+VP”. Due to the combination of “guo” and “VP”, the sentence structure has been re-analyzed, and “Buguo” has been frozen into a word and turned into an adverb, so as to derive a new construction with the gradual expansion of the use context.
