The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of middle school students" participation in school sports clubs on physical self-efficacy to imprint the importance of revitalizing school sports clubs and participating in school sports clubs.
The subjects of the study were 265 middle school students who participated in the school sports club, and 3 questions of personal characteristics and 16 questions of physical self-efficacy were surveyed using a questionnaire.
The collected data are as follows by performing frequency and percentage, Cronbach"s α coefficient calculation, and t-test using the SPSS Win 21.0 program.
First, as a result of analyzing the difference in physical self-efficacy, there was a statistically significant difference. It can be seen that participation in school sports clubs has an effect of enhancing physical self-efficacy, as all four areas of physical self-efficacy, body shape efficacy, muscle efficacy, and appearance efficacy have positive effects on post-test rather than pre-test.
Second, as a result of analyzing the effect of exercise participation efficacy, there was a statistically significant difference. This can be seen as the effect of enhancing the effectiveness of participating in sports as students who participated in school sports clubs gained athletic ability and confidence.
Third, as a result of analyzing the difference in body shape efficacy, there was a statistically significant difference. This can be seen as an effect that students who participated in the school sports club maintained a balanced body, which is a diet effect, and brought about changes in body shape, increasing their psychological stability and enhancing their body shape efficacy.
Fourth, as a result of analyzing the difference in muscle strength efficacy, there was a statistically significant difference. It can be seen that students who participated in the school sports club improved their athletic skills, muscle strength, and physical strength as a whole, helping to improve confidence and enhancing their muscle strength efficacy.
Fifth, as a result of analyzing the difference in appearance efficacy, there was a statistically significant difference. This can be said to have been effective in enhancing appearance efficacy by enhancing students who participated in school sports clubs" perceptions and confidence in their healthy body and appearance.
Since it is not possible to represent all middle school students due to restrictions on the survey target, it is believed that meaningful research results will be derived if follow-up studies are conducted by expanding variables to gender, grade, event, and region in future studies.
