The aim of this study is to examine the mediating effect of social comparison orientation moderated by ego-resiliency in the relationship between intolerance of uncertainty and academic burnout. The participants were 650 (287 men and 363 women) undergraduate students. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, factor analysis, and Process Macro v. 3.5 model 14. The results of this study were as follows: First, ego-resiliency moderated the mediating effect of ability comparison orientation on academic burnout. Second, ego-resiliency did not moderate the mediating effect of opinion comparison orientation on academic burnout. In conclusion, the results suggest the effect of ability in comparison prominent in the academic burnout process and that ego-resiliency strengthens the effect of ability comparison orientation on academic burnout.
