The purpose of this study is to examine how the restaurant space can be a space for communication & healing through three Japanese films, 〈Kamome Diner〉〈Rinco"s Restaurant〉 and 〈Midnight Diner). These three films resonated greatly in Japan and Korea. The films allow you to examine the wounds of characters who are alienated in the modern society and the process of healing from various perspectives by approaching and dealing with them through food in the space of a restaurant. and the psychological conflicts of each person who enjoys the culture microscopically. Therefore, I tried to focus on the meaning of “restaurant” that is common in the three movies. The “restaurant” space can be regarded as a miniature version of modern society. 〈Kamome Diner〉 is a space that reflects the globalized modern society, 〈Rinco"s Restaurant〉 is a survival space for minorities alienated from the social values defined by the mainstream society, and 〈Midnight Diner〉 is a space that depicts how people who have come to Tokyo compete and survive in a large city. Therefore, this study examined the three movies focusing on communication & healing through various episodes occurring in a space of the restaurant.
