This article explores how the narratives of The Avengers franchise represent the modern society in the post-capitalist technoculture. In particular, this article focuses on the narrative of Iron Man movies. The narrative of Iron Man inherits the tradition of SF hero genre in the 1960s, which carried out the role of propaganda during the Cold War. In addition, American Frontierism and anti-Franklin ideology take a central place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It has long been a substantial strategy to build images with fictional characters and narratives and use them to construct national identity. Such a cultural strategy contributes to the way in which the United States establishes its position in the international relations in modern technoculture. This shows the complex logic of modern technoscience. In this way, Iron Man technologies in the movies conceal the exploitative images of the western industrialism and, more importantly, successfully appropriate the image of technocultural future, the imaginary space where different cultures of different origins have been struggling to achieve their own images of future.
