Since the recent advent of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, technology in the defense industry has been growing rapidly, and the proportion of defense improvement costs has also been gradually increasing. Without objective analysis of defense industry technology, which invests a huge budget, efficient technology development is difficult and defense budgets can be wasted. In this paper, we analyzed data using patent information on ammunition technology among defense industry technologies, and through this, we tried to increase the efficiency of defense industry research and defense budget through objective and systematic quantitative methods. Among the big data analysis techniques, which are the core technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, patent analysis methods using data mining were presented, and the characteristics, vacuum technologies, and central technologies were analyzed from various perspectives. This objective and scientific data analysis is judged to be applicable to the defense industry R&D field in the future.
