CoFe₂O₄ and Fe₃O₄ have been focused in bi-layer system due to their potential used as the magnetic tunnel barrier and electrode in spin dependent tunneling devices and due to their small lattice mismatch. A strong antiferromagnetic coupling at their interface has been reported due to the exchange coupling between two oxides.
