The paper deals with certain problems and ways of their solution in teaching Russian language and speech culture for students of technical universities. The relevance of the choice of theme is associated with new approaches to Humanities education in Russia and the peculiarities of the language identity of the modern student. The author of the article considers the concept of "linguistic personality" (YAL). YAL - speaker of the Russian language sanative, but at the same time, in varying degrees, owning and using communication to others or other foreign languages. In a broader sense, this person has, or should have different cultural competencies. "Russian language and speech culture" as an academic discipline aims to improve the level of speech culture of young people receiving higher education. It is closely connected with other Humanities subjects. Our University, the Moscow State University of geodesy and cartography, is no exception. In the curricula of the different specializations (geodesy, applied geodesy, photogrammetry, and many others) is the subject. The article author refers to experimental studies associated with associative thinking. They had been colleagues, teachers-experts in different fields of knowledge. The participants were modern students of different specialties of the technical Institute. The author believes that the use of an integrated approach and upgrade subject content of the discipline will promote increase of level of cognitive motivation of students, and the professional skill of the teacher. The article offers the interpretation of an integrated interdisciplinary approach that includes, in addition to solving purely linguistic task, involving historical, literary, cultural information, provides specific tasks in connection with this approach. They are connected with the organization of independent work of students under the supervision of teachers. This allows us to consider the teaching of the Russian language and speech culture as an effective way to building a full-fledged language personality in modern conditions.
