This study is to classify 202 conversion cases of 574 modern architectural properties now in Dec. 31, 2016. They are classified with 111 cases converted to exhibition, 50 cases for non exhibition, and 41 other cases. The 111 cases for exhibition are 80 memorial halls, 22 museums, and 9 galleries. The 80 memorial halls are converted from the old houses and others, and are meant to honor the historical figures and the regional modern history. Most museums are displaying their former remains, galleries for paintings are showing various models from the large to the tiny scale. The 50 cases for non exhibition are 17 public cultural facilities, 15 shops, 8 businesses, each 4 educational and public purpose facilities, and 2 dwellings. The 17 public facilities are used for the cultural complex, library, and community center depending on building scale and character. Most shops with cafe and restaurant are choosing their business types to fit the style of dwellings. The 41 other cases are 11 lighthouses and gauging stations built in the Daehan Empire and 1920s’, 8 watchtowers in Korean war, 10 water towers for supplying water to the steam train, 6 buildings as the ruins of war, and 6 memorial facilities, all of them also have a more monumental orientation, and show character as exhibits.
