The cultural facilities built in the center of the city recently have a role to accommodate various uses and activities. Due to the block-scale development and complex functions, they reorganize the urban structure causing accessibility problems. The purpose of this study is to analyze factors affecting the accessibility of large cultural facilities from this point of view. In particular, the study was selected as the 'Asia Culture Center(ACC)' in Gwangju by examining the accessibility where the main functions are located underground. Because of the undergroundization, the buildings in the complex is only accessible through the intermediate spaces connecting the ground and the underground, which generates problems in accessibility and perception of buildings. Therefore, this study analyzed the accessibility of the space that connects the ground and the underground in ACC. The physical environment of each space was surveyed through observation and document review and the factors affecting accessibility were derived by conducting on-site surveys. The derived factors were analyzed through regression analysis. As a result, it was found that factors affecting accessibility are different for each intermediate space in terms of the physical properties and the user perception. This study is meaningful to be used as basic research data to improve accessibility in planning future large-scale cultural facilities.
