This thesis explores the national newspapers` photojournalistic practices of framing and grouping multi-cultural groups as `others.` In order to analyze photojournalistic images of newspapers, the researcher adopted six variables: 1. expression of emotions, 2. eye contact, 3. shooting distance, 4. individuality, 5. social interaction, 6. main body of an act. The thesis analyzes a total of 224 photographs of three different newspaper which are published for three years from 2014 through 2016. As a result, the researcher found some framing tactics of newspaper photographs, rendering multi-cultural groups as `distant` rather than `familiar,` `dehumanized` rather thatn `humanized,` `group` rather than `individual,` and `others` rather than `we.` It is very important that three newspaper published very few pictures of multicultural groups` interactions of ordinary domestic people. Many cases describe Koreans as `givers` while they show multi-cultural people as `beneficiaries.`
