인터넷과 테크놀로지의 발달은 지역사회의 개념을 변화시키고, 지리적으로 제한된 전통적 공동체와 다른 공동체의 개념을 등장시켰다. 온라인 커뮤니티는 서로의 생각과 의견을 주고 받을 수 있는 사회적 상호작용을 위한 공간이며, 이 새로운 공간에서 도시인들은 관심의 공유와 사회적 쟁점에 대한 대화 그리고 상호 호혜적 유대 관계를 통해서 보다 확장된 참여의 목소리를 증폭하고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 디지털 문화와 기술 발전으로 온라인 커뮤니티를 통한 지역적인 이슈에 집중하는 ‘커뮤니티 아트‘(Community Art) 성향의 프로젝트들을 소개하고, 위치정보 시스템과 집단지성을 활용하여 시민들의 자발적인 참여로 지역 사회의 문제를 해결하는 커뮤니티 맵핑(Community mapping)의 사례들을 통해, 새로운 형태의 커뮤니티 중심의 미술교육(CBAE) 으로서의 가능성을 제시해 보고자 한다. 인터넷 사이트나 소셜미디어를 기반으로 하고, 지역사회 문제에 대해 소통하고 참여하는 새로운 형태의 커뮤니티 아트의 형태를 통합적 교육과정을 구성하여 교육현장에서 실천해 볼 수 있다. 커뮤니티 매핑은 환경, 지역안전, 역사, 문화, 예술 등 다각적 주제로 교육활동과 연계하여 학생들의 지역사회에 대한 관심 증대와 참여 증진으로 공동체 역량을 강화할 수 있으며, 학생들의 직접적 참여로 지역사회 변화를 이끌어 낼 수 있다.
This study aims to provide ways to strengthen the cultural competency and examples of the instruction method that correspond to the stream of times using the traditional cultural heritage of each town and through the village education community that village residents, school, and students make together. It also aims to enhance the role of art teachers and the art education competency. In order to clarify the relationship between the village education community and the local cultural competency, firstly, it analyzed various perspectives on cultural competency and Local Culture Promotion Act. In addition, considering the beginning of the village education community, pursuing direction, method, and relevance, it suggested ways of teaching the traditional cultual heritage of the village that can be used both in and outside school, such as the field study and school curriculum. Art culture understanding ability, as one of core competencies of art education that is revised in 2015, proposed the art culture identity, cultural sensitivity, and community consciousness as subordinate elements. Accordingly, in this study, firstly, it aimed at teachers, villagers, and students to develop the cultural sensitivity and art culture identity focusing on basic education, application education, and value education for the traditional cultural heritage. Secondly, through village education community activities linked with the free semester system that focus on a wide range of experiences, discussions, and practices, it gave education about the traditional culture and strengthened the cultural competency. The traditional cultural heritage of the village is the culture and history of the village narrowly and the people broadly. It is also an element of learning that can build up the identity. Through the village education community, it can cultivate a community spirit as well that can be found in the traditional culture. In the village education community, by activating the education about the traditional cultural heritage, village members can get to know the village more deeply and can have a feeling of self-esteem and affection for the environment they live and its roots. The education about the traditional cultural heritage through the village education community can be an effective way to enhance the educational power and to strengthen the cultural competency.
