Since ancient times, Silk Road has been playing an important role in the exchange and trade of East and West civilizations by being located at the intersection of the east, west, north and south traffic routes. The results of the international academic community indicate that the migration routes of prehistoric ancient humans and modern human beings did not largely differ from those of the three major Silk Roads in the historical era. Taking up the main subject, first of all, we will set the geographical scope of Central Asia and discuss the ecological environment of the region. Next, we will divide the Paleolithic period into three periods of Early, Middle, and Late, respecting the customs of local academia, and then present the actual trends and major issues of the Paleolithic studies in Central Asia.
