This study aims to understand the trend of previous domestic studies on the green building certification system (GBCS) that have been published until recently focusing on the housing sector. The subjects of this study were previous studies dealing with the GBCS, and a total of 29 studies were selected for analysis. This study was conducted through content analysis, and five criteria, which consisted of publication year, research purpose, method, certification system type, and housing type, were used for analysis. As a result, most of the studies were published during the period, when the GBCS was introduced, and thereafter, the number of studies decreased in quantity. As much as the domestic studies were analyzed, the domestic certification systems such as G-SEED and GBCC were reviewed. There were also many studies evaluating the performances of certified houses at the time of the introduction of the certification system in the initial stage of move-in. And, as there is no domestic study in the housing field using the WELL certification, which pertains to health-friendly properties. The results of this study are expected to be used as basic data to explore the direction of follow-up research on the GBCS in the future.
