This paper examines the problems and solutions of Korean Buddhism in terms of social change. In other words, this study attempts to examine what choice Buddhism has made in the course of historically significant social structural changes, and what problems are derived from the consequences. From this point of view, the historical turning point that this paper draws attention to is the macrosocial change of modernization, industrialization, democratization, post-modernization, and post-informatization. First, I briefly reviewed the challenges and limitations of Korean Buddhism in the 20th century, which faced the rush of modernization, industrialization and democratization since its opening. Subsequently, I discussed the characteristics of each of the new social changes in the 21st century in terms of post-modernization and post-informatization.
