This study reexamines the significance of war literature in the post - war paragraphs of Korea and Japan through a comparative study of Korea and Japan in the 1960s. The common feature of the whole book of war literature published in 1960s in Korea and Japan is that it contains works based on the most recent war that occurred during the period of publishing. In the case of Korea, the Korean War, Japan has the 15-year war from Manchuria Incident to Asia-Pacific War as the main background of the work. The main genre of the recorded work is novel. In the case of Japan, there is also a collection of poems, diaries, and handwritten notes, but the proportion is small, and is mainly included as an appendix. The “Showa Wartime Literature Collection” focuses on the war in the Showa era centered on the war participation area and the characters participating in the war. In the case of Korea, the whole collection of Korean Warfare is divided into short, medium, and long pieces focusing on length, not content of the work. In the third and fourth volumes, I tried to record the work of a new writer and to record the work of the war in a new generation’s eyes, but it is disappointing that I did not realize such an intention visually. In Korea and Japan, the entire book of war literature published in the 1960s was used only shortly after the end of the war, so there is still no objective perspective to look at the war. Therefore, there is a strong sense of the record of war, and there is a limit to the lack of diverse and profound evaluations of war. It is hard to exclude the economic reasons of the publishing market at the time, but it can be found in terms of compiling war literature from the 1960s perspective.
