To this day, China’s documentary photography has experienced the late 19th century, the early 20th century explorer, the true emergence of the 1980s, and the documentary craze of the 1990s. Among them, there are artists who have contributed greatly to the development of Chinese documentary photography, and the existence of the junior department is especially important, and he is a monumental figure in the development of Chinese documentary photography. “Out of the noisy world of photography, the junior department recorded the rituals, work and silence, passion and coldness, hope and helplessness of the people in his hometown through ordinary life. His record of ability, talent, willingness and courage in ordinary people’s lives is the highest in Chinese photography.” As described in “Danbi,” a text written by Jin So-pa in the photo editorial department of Xinhua, “Later protected the wilderness for decades, overcame the limitations of his real status in his unique way, and gave him the power to do things only with people around him as a son of Chinese farmers. His concept of documentary photography and responsibility for society are all something we can learn and emulate.” Currently, we live in an era where materials are met, but we should look at more photo books such as “The Beer.” It is a work that was born through a true life career and has eternal vitality, and can provide us with infinite implications. Photographs and writings, simplicity and gravity filter our minds, and we can look back at the past in the face of nervousness, material desire and cold reality, and think calmly again.
