This study examined the changes in the position of the South Korean fishery industry in the global fishery trade market and identified the countries where the centrality changed through this analysis. Moreover, the results of this study will provide useful baseline data when establishing plans to revitalize the trade and overseas expansion of the South Korean fishery industry. The analysis results on the status of the New Southern Policy and the betweenness centrality of Southern Regions revealed the importance of Vietnam, South Korea, and Thailand in the trade network. The higher betweenness centrality indicates the higher importance of the country in delivering information, influence, and material resources between members within a network. A country with high betweenness centrality is a hub country that connects the two countries, and it can be interpreted that other countries heavily rely on a country with high betweenness centrality. It is possible to diversify the export market by developing the overseas fisheries trade to a country with high betweenness centrality and import maritime products in need to South Korea first when it is difficult to supply maritime products domestically through constructing an ODA export base.
