This article presents ‘modular creative convergence education’ as the direction of 21st century education innovation required according to the change of university education environment. (1) Creative convergence is the discovery of a new ‘relationship’. (2) Creative convergence is realized through the ‘connection’ of ‘relationship’. (3) Creative convergence education is not a simple time series of knowledge or information, but a process of creating ‘relationships’ and constructing ‘connections’. Creative convergence education aims in a different direction from existing education. (1) It aims for relationship-centered education rather than object-centered education. (2) It aims for subject-centered education rather than material-oriented education. (3) It aims for consumer-oriented education rather than producer-centered education. (4) It aims for output-oriented education rather than input-oriented education. The specific types of modular education are as follows. (1) The internal structure of individual classes can be modularized. (2) Classes on specific topics can be organized into groups and modularized. (3) By arranging modules of a specific subject and allowing learners to select a plurality of each module, it is possible to construct one desired learning subject by themselves. (4) After removing all boundaries and restrictions on mandatory and optional specific modules, the instructor opens a class on the subject that he or she can provide, and the learner can select the class and complete the credits. As a concrete example of modular creative convergence education examined in this way, the educational goals and orientation of Ingenium College of Convergence Studies, Hankuk University of Foreign Studies as the specific case of modular education were presented. Above all, the most important factor for the success of creative convergence education is the dedication of the instructor.
