Swelling and deswelling behaviors of stimuli-responsive composite hydrogels are critical for their use in soft robotics and biomedical applications. However, typical additives such as gold and iron oxide nanoparticles are not involved with polymer networks, limiting the design of three-dimensional (3D) shape morphing and actuation.
