The leaves of Chamaecyparis obtusa used in this study are known to contain various components like phytoncides, phenolic compounds and flavonoids. The purpose of this study is to develop new CPE-1 material through bioconversion of C. obtusa leaves and to compare the differences in antioxidant activity, antibacterial activity and composition of the two materials. C. obtusa leaves were extracted using 99% EtOH and CPE-1 was produced through the activation process on day 10.
