Although cisplatin is widely used in cancer treatment, its strong cytotoxicity and non-selective properties cause undesirable damage to immune cells. In the present study, we investigated whether Annona muricata leaf-derived polysaccharides (ALPS) has protective effects against the cisplatin-induced cytotoxicity in macrophages. ALPS had cytoprotective effects in cisplatin-treated RAW264.7 cells, while ALPS induced stronger cytotoxicity in combination with cisplatin in lung cancer cells.
