This study reviews and suggests current egg distribution process in Gyeonggi-do, the system that may contribute to egg distribution system in the area, the current tasks for egg Distribution Structure, and the ripple effect of introduction into the Gyeonggi-do.
The complexity of issues across egg industry sectors, the intensity of competition within the egg retail and egg distribution system means simplistic explanations for the relationships between retail prices and direct dealing are often not related or misleading. The price setting system of the domestic egg market is not adjusted through wholesale market, including the auction market. The poultry and egg farmers are confronted with severe economic problems because of the egg price discount and monthly payment practice.
The government strengthened the sanitation procedures and safety management of eggs by mandating the egg sorting and packaging and promoting the Eggs Processing Center. Additionally, it is necessary to find ways to advance egg distribution structure in connection with the formal arrangement to support the Egg Processing Center. Through Eggs Processing Center, the government seeks to diversify egg distribution methods and expands producers’ market options and curb unfair trade and improved egg price signals. Price or other mechanisms like systematization would facilitate improved producer’s decision making and could point to opportunities for extracting greater value.
