This study examines difficulty of the vocabulary in TORFL(B1) and educational usage of AntConc. First, the number of words (token), word types (type), and vocabulary density (TTR) were analyzed. The number of word types in each area ranged from 1,400 to 1,900, and the total number of tokens ranged from 8,000 to 10,000. In addition the vocabulary density (TTR) of each area was 0.17 to 0.20, which slightly increased in a reading part, but most of them remained generally constant. Second, we discussed whether the vocabulary in the B1 level belongs to the B1 essential vocabulary(Лексический минимум по русскому языку как иностранному. Первый сертификационный уровень). Among the 1,770 word types in the grammar & vocabulary part, more than 200 word types were not included in the B1 level essential vocabulary. However, if students become familiar with the derivational patterns, the new vocabulary will not cause a big problem for passing the exam. In addition, the B1 level essential vocabulary was mostly included within the 1st - 7500th words in the frequency dictionary of Ляшевская & Шаров. Finally, in terms of educational use, if AntConc can be utilized in classrooms, instructors will be able to provide a plenty of examples containing a certain word, a frequency of the words and useful collocations for preparing the exam.
