Most of the domestic tea plants(Camellia sinensis var. sinensis) have relatively cold hardiness. Recently, however, freezing injury of the tea plant is a serious situation due to the winter temperature decrease sharply or maintain low temperature. This is recognized as a need for breeding cold-resistant tea cultivars. Therefore, to search for cold-responsive genes of tea plants and develop molecular markers, transcriptome analysis was performed using RNA-seq data of domestic tea cultivars. In this study, RNA was extracted from the matured leaves of two cultivars(‘Keumsull’ and ‘Chamnok’) treated at -5°C for 12 hours.
