주요 품질특성치 수가 p(p ≥ 2)인 다변량 정규공정에서, 누적결합방법을 이용하여 평균벡터, 산포행렬의 분산성분들 및 상관계수 성분들을 별도로 관리하기 위한 세 개의 다변량 지수가중이동평균 관리도를 각각 제시한 후 제시된 세 개의 관리도를 결합한 하나의 지수가중이동평균 다변량관리도를 제안하였다. 누적결합방법으로 생성된 세 개의 다변량관리도를 결합한 고정추출간격 관리도를 가변추출간격 관리도로 확장하였고, 확장된 가변추출간격 지수가중이동평균 관리도의 특성을 파악하기 위한 수치적 수행도는 모의실험을 통해 탐색하였다. 제안된 누적결합 절차를 이용한 관리도는 다변량정규공정의 공정모수 성분들의 작은 변화에도 우수한 성능을 가지고 있음을 모의실험을 통해 파악할 수 있었다. 또한 지수가중이동평균 관리도의 평활상수가 작을수록 공정모수들의 작은 변화에 더 효과적이었으며 평균경보시간과 평균경보표본수도 작아지는 경향이 있음도 파악할 수 있었다. 또한 가변추출간격 관리도의 주요 특성인 평균전환횟수 (ANSW) 및 전환확률도 작아지는 경향이 있음도 파악할 수 있었다.
