This study estimated vertical distribution of the Larimichtys polyactis in ocean by measuring specific gravity of its larva in relation to growth and morphological development. Specific gravities of larva in various development stages were measured in a 100mL beaker containing salt solutions that varied from 0‰ to 38‰ Using salt hydrometer, positions of larva that is suspended in between the surface and bottom of salt water were identified. In terms of change in specific gravity to developmental stage, specific gravity decreased and increased on the 4th and 6th day of hatching-out, respectively.
