Purpose
In patients with liver metastasis of colorectal cancer, neo-adjuvant chemotherapy is widely used to increase the patient’s survival rate and reduce the recurrence rate. However, research and evidence for it are still lacking. This study aimed to clarify its worth and develop appropriate treatment strategies for colorectal cancer liver metastasis patients.
Method
A total of 102 patients treated for resectable colorectal cancer liver metastasis at six Hallym University-affiliated hospitals between Apr, 2009 and Dec, 2019 were retrospectively reviewed. 88 patients underwent surgery first (upfront surgery group), 14 patients underwent neo-adjuvant chemotherapy first(upfront chemotherapy group). All patients received adjuvant chemotherapy after surgery.
