Purpose
Chronic venous disease of the lower limbs is a common public health problem worldwide with negative impact on quality of life. We investigated the effects of combined extract of Vitis vinifera L. and Centella asiatica for treatment of chronic venous insufficiency.
Methods
From February 2019 to February 2020, we conducted a randomized, double-blind human application trial using a combination drug and placebo in 100 patients with chronic venous insufficiency who met the selection criteria for 8 weeks.
Results
A total of 100 patients (combined drug group, 50; placebo group, 50) were included in this study. In the demographic, there was no statistical difference between the two groups. As a result of the analysis of the primary efficacy evaluation items (calf circumference, calf volume, chronic venous insufficiency survey), the calf circumference of the combined drug group was statistically significantly decreased compared to the placebo group (P=0.0433).
