In this study, for export support of SMEs located in Jeollanam-do, local governments and related institutions in Gwangju and Jeollanam-do analyzed the utilization and performance of various export support systems for SMEs. In particular, we analyzed in detail how the characteristics of SMEs and the operational characteristics and awareness of the export support system affect the use of the export support system. To this end, research models and hypotheses were established and tested on the relationship between company characteristics, export characteristics, characteristics of use of the export support system, awareness of export support system and the use of export support system, and the relationship between awareness of export support system and export performance. As a result of the analysis, first, looking at the effect on the performance of SMEs, it was found that export characteristics and usage characteristics rather than company characteristics and the recognition of export support system affect the economic performance of SMEs. It was analyzed that the recognition of the export support system had a statistically significant effect on the strategic performance of a company, , economic usefulness, and economic performance among various characteristics affect strategic performance.
