Introduction and Background
Apoptosis and autophagy are correlated with the extent of damage in torn rotator cuffs. In a rat model of partial and full-thickness rotator cuff tears, we evoked apoptotic and autophagic reactions and examined how a GSK-3β inhibitor affected the expression of apoptotic and autophagic markers in the established rotator cuff tear.
Material and Method
Forty-eight rats were allocated into three groups: no treatment as control, partial- and full-thickness rotator cuff injury, injection of GSK-3β inhibitor following rotator cuff injury. The tendons from each group were harvested 42 days after surgery; gene expression and immunohistochemical and TUNEL stain evaluation were performed for caspase 3, 8 and 9, Bax, Bcl-2, Beclin-1, p53 and GSK-3β, which represent apoptotic and a^_@span style=color:#999999 ^_# ... ^_@/span^_#^_@a href=javascript:; onclick=onClickReadNode('NODE10566541');fn_statistics('Z354','null','null'); style='color:#999999;font-size:14px;text-decoration:underline;' ^_#전체 초록 보기^_@/a^_#
