Installation art originated in the 1960s. The initial stacking and combination of ready-made products, collages, and integration with conceptual art and video art, fully demonstrated the artists" application to modern civilization. Installation art emphasizes the sense of experience and fully embodies the concept of "the need to directly participate in art." This article takes the personal new media interactive artwork 〈Orbits〉 as an example. The main purpose of the 〈Orbits〉 works is for the audience to stand in front of the artist"s work, based on the original work, and to experience it and have an impact on the artist"s work through their own efforts. This article also deals with the background planning, work introduction, production process, the way the audience participates in the work, and focuses on the interactive relationship between the audience and the work. Furthermore, the development path and trend of new media installation artworks are analyzed, and the value and significance of interactivity for future new media installation art are explored.
